I just finished off a bottle of wine. Drinking is not something I usually do, especially not while at home. But I haven't felt this down in a very long time, and for lack of any other way to deal with it, I decided to try and drink it away....
I just laughed cause I was thinking about when my boys were younger and I'd meet them at the end of the street where the school bus dropped them off after school.....and one day I over heard some of the young boys as they were getting off the bus say to the bus driver "See ya Gus. Give me 4!" The bus driver would smack their hands. I asked my sons and their friends why they asked Gus to give them 4 instead of 5 and they said cause Gus only has 4 fingers.
AND THEN THAT STORY REMINDED ME OF a guy who use to walk the streets when I was a kid. He was an older guy that wore torn, ragged clothes, usually drunk, and he looked dirty. They called him "Coming and Going." His left foot was perfectly normal but his right foot was turned so that if he were to click his heels he'd really be clicking the baby toe of his right foot to the heel of his left foot.........I felt sorry for him.
I oriented a new nurse this past weekend. She said she learned more from me in 1 day then she had in her first week with the other nurse. It made me feel good...
Good night.
