I’ve Been Cleaning Houses

 I had a nice Thanksgiving. My two sons, my daughter, my daughter-in-law and my middle sons girl friend and daughters boyfriend and I had dinner together at my house. I cooked a traditional Thanksgiving meal. It’s a lot of work but I enjoy doing it and I always enjoy having all my adult children here at the same time. It’s fun for me. I hope it it is for them too..

I quit nursing a year and a half ago. I just couldn’t keep up with the work load anymore. I was always afraid of making an error. Plus I was having difficulty concentrating. I didn’t want that type of responsibility. I was finished, done, kaput!

I’ve been cleaning houses on a as needed basis for a little cleaning company in my city. I talked the owner into creating a position for me to feel in on some days when he has a staff member call in. At first he said no but ended up calling me and agreeing to creating the position. He’s an awfully nice man. 

I really like the job. There’s something therapeutic about cleaning. I just do the task while I get lost in my own head. I’m always excited for when the client comes home from a hard days work and they get to come home to a well cleaned and tidy home. I imagine how good it must feel.

 I wish my back was younger. . I’d work a lot more days. But I do what I can and I’m grateful for
